Three Humboldt Penguin Chicks Born At NY Zoo

The first baby hatched on January 9th, followed by the second on January 17th and just four days later, the third chick greeted the world, making them the 40th, 41st and 42nd chicks born at the facility. Including the new arrivals, the zoo now has 35 Humboldt penguins.

All of the babies will be spending some time with their parents before meeting and joining the colony at the facility. On Wednesday, county executive Joanie Mahoney introduced the 42nd or youngest baby penguin at a press conference.
