Indigenous communities occupy 14 Peruvian oil wells

Some 400 protesters from the Pampa Hermosa indigenous community are occupying 14 oil wells in Peru's largest oil fields and are blocking a river as part of a dispute with the Argentine petroleum company Pluspetrol. The indigenous activists charge that the company is using local resources without the inhabitants' consent and has inflicted damage on the environment. teleSUR
