Drought forces Brazilian kids to fetch water from CROC INFESTED canal

Brazil’s tropical waters are chock full of huge and hungry amphibians, but most of locals know when to stay away. Playing by the water’s edge carelessly could mean the difference between life and death.

However, a recent heat wave has brought water levels so low that locals in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes neighbourhood of Rio de Janeiro have no choice but to get the their daily supply of H2O from a local canal full of black caimans.

Residents say they have to bathe and collect water from the canal more often, putting them within the snapping jaws of the massive reptiles.

To make matters worse, some have been dumping food waste into the canals as well, which local resident Marcela Cordeiro says may have made the crocs more aggressive.
