During the 1970's, the Mexican government fought guerrillas in the state of Guerrero and many human rights violations were committed in what has become known as the "Dirty War". According to survivors and researchers, many unpunished crimes committed during that period contributed to creating the conditions that led to the attack against the Ayotzinapa Teacher College students in Iguala. teleSUR
