Police in Los Angeles have released surveillance footage of a man who is wanted in connection to a number of elevator robberies.

In the December 30th incident highlighted in the video, the suspect followed a woman into apartment building before violently assaulting her and stealing her belongings.

According to police, the man threatened her with a sharp object during the struggle. This incident is the most recent one.

The first occurred during the early morning hours of November 9th and the next crime happened on November 23rd. In both cases, a man assaulted the victims inside apartment elevators and stole their purses.

The second to last robbery was on December 23rd and that one had a different tone. Although the victim was beaten and robbed inside an elevator like the other two, she was also sexually battered by the suspect.

LAPD Investigator Brenda Hardy commented “The last couple of robberies, the females have held onto their property or resisted in some way. And in each subsequent robbery, his level of violence has been escalating.”

Police are hoping that by releasing the video, tips will come in and help them locate and arrest him right away.

The assailant is described as a 20 something Hispanic male who weighs between 130 and 170 pounds.
