The star of Max Factor’s new ad campaign is one of Hollywood’s biggest legends – Marilyn Monroe.
According to the brand, she was chosen as it was the artistry of Max Factor that helped make her an icon.
In a press release they announced, "Norma Jeane entered his Blonde Room in the late 1940s as a brunette, and thanks to Mr. Max Factor emerged complete with platinum blonde hair, a beauty look fit for Marilyn Monroe."
It has been pointed out that a colorist at another salon first dyed the actress’ hair blonde, but it was under Max Factor Jr.’s watch that her signature look was completed.
A dense swath of black liner was used to elongate her eyes and her lips were accentuated with a bright yet sultry red.
In the campaign the bombshell created by the cosmetics house is featured alongside an image of Marilyn when she was still Hollywood hopeful Norma Jeane.
Max Factor’s Global Creative Design Director Pat McGrath says the transformation was achieved through carefully assessing and accentuating the starlet’s features.
The look itself has over time become synonymous with glamour and continues to dominate fashion spreads, red carpets, and runways.
