TEEN VOGUE - Hudson Theatre
Jason Wu, known best for the white chiffon gown he designed for Michelle Obama to wear at the Inaugural Gala in 2009, focuses on designing beautifully crafted pieces to compliment the female form. Since his breakout as a fashion designer, he has not only been awarded the prestigious Swarovski Award for Womenswear at the CFDA Fashion Awards in June 2010, but he has also received a nomination for the CFDA/Swarovski Award for Accessory Design in April 2011. Though he entered the industry as a doll-clothing designer, Wu has evolved into a renowned fashion designer, fusing American sportswear with refined modernism. Wu discusses how he finds inspiration in elements from the past and present to define his design aesthetic.
