Dozens of homes were destroyed as large uncontrolled fires burn through the Adelaide Hills in the state of South Australia on Saturday (January 3).
More than 500 fire-fighters and 14 aircraft have been battling the blaze since Friday (January 2) and authorities have called on more support from other states as six fire-fighters have needed medical help, Australian media reported.
Residents were told to evacuate but are unsure if fire-fighters will be able to save their properties.
Roads have been closed in the area of the fires with people unable to get out livestock.
