Those in power today are more constrained in what they can do with it and more at risk of losing it than ever before.This global transformation in power dynamics clearly translates into less maneuverability for tyrants, dictators, and monopolies. Moises Naim cautions, however, that when many wield enough power to block action while few can marshal enough to move agendas forward, stagnation, paralysis, and dissolution may result. What is required to avoid this danger is a wave of political and institutional innovation that Naim believes is on the way.
