Up to a dozen individuals were left injured following a lightning strike in Florida. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, outside the Raymond James Stadium, just after a Tampa Buccaneers game against Green Bay.

All of those who were hurt had been in parking lot 14, which is located on the north side of the stadium. According to Tampa Fire Rescue spokesman Jason Penny, none of the victims were injured directly from the lightning strike, but they were instead impacted by the aftermath of it.

Some people were knocked down and others were pelted with gravel.

He commented “It was like a bomb going off when it hit. It literally moved us. It shook you and shocked you, but we all kind of looked around and felt we were fine, and it was just pouring.”

One person is reportedly in critical condition. Tampa Fire Rescue paramedics said most of the injuries did not seem to be serious.

Patients arrived at St. Joseph's Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
