The bodies of 8 children were recently discovered at a residence in a suburb of Cairns, Australia. Officers were dispatched to the home after reports came in about a seriously injured female.
Upon arrival, police searched the house and found the bodies of the young victims, aged between 18 months and 15 years. The woman is the 34-year-old mother of at least seven of the kids.
She had been stabbed in the neck and chest and was rushed to the hospital. Her condition is listed as stable.
Children were reportedly stabbed as well although authorities have not confirmed that. No arrests have been made in the case and no suspect was named. The woman is reportedly speaking with police and cooperating with them.
