Police in New York City have released surveillance footage of a suspect who is wanted in connection to an attempted rape case. The incident occurred this past summer and still, the man has not yet been found.

However, a clear video of a male matching the assailant’s description has surfaced and it shows him making a purchase at a local Bodega or store. Investigators are now hoping the images will generate leads in a case that has been cold for months.

According to the NYPD, on Saturday, July 12th, the suspect was speaking to the 15-year-old victim when he reportedly started to choke her until she fell unconscious.

He then attempted to rape the teenager before fleeing the scene and successfully evading capture. The full extent of the girl’s injuries are not known.

Detectives describe the suspect as a 20-something black male with a tattoo on his right arm and side of his neck. ‘Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.’
