Customers often react unpredictably at restaurants when something doesn’t go their way. On Monday, a dispute over a sandwich order at a restaurant in Saskatoon, Canada led to a snake being thrown.

According to staffers at the Tim Hortons location, two males started bickering with an employee over their sandwiches because they wanted diced onions but didn’t get them.

The men didn’t back down and as the argument got increasingly heated, one of the males reached into his friend’s pocket, pulled out a snake, and threw it across the counter.

Staffers quickly left the store and police were contacted to recover the slithery creature. Officers were indeed able to capture the non-venomous garter snake.

The two males have since been charged with mischief and causing a disturbance. A police spokesperson described the incident stating “Very different, very bizarre and for the employees that were involved, very frightening because they wouldn’t know that wasn’t a poisonous snake or it wasn’t dangerous.”

The snake, now named Outlaw, has been placed into the care of an individual who offered to look after it until this coming Spring.
