Is it a surprise we've got some Chinese experimental footworking beats? Of course not: in a country of 1.35 billion, it'd be a surprise if someone WASN'T making 160bpm music like this. Beijing's Howie Lee has already found support from the likes of Plastician, Scratcha DVA, Gaslamp Killer and, erm, Snoop Lion for his explorations of grime, trap and other bass brutality – and now, together with Zaiio, he's banged together an outrageous high-velocity workout for the forthcoming, self-explanatory '160' compilation, out on Dec 8th on Starkey and Dev79's Philadelphia-based Seclusiasis label.
