Donetsk shelling victim: my wish is to "go to Kiev and to kill them all"

The flames of war burn inside a house in Ukraine's eastern city of Donetsk..

Recent shelling here left at least two people dead.

Residents are fuming with anger and some want to take matters into their own hands.

(SOUNDBITE) (Russian) LOCAL RESIDENT, LYUBA, SAYING:

"What can I do now? Whom can I pray to? My wish now is to take a weapon myself and go to Kiev and to kill them all."

They're trapped in the middle of a so-called ceasefire signed September 5 between pro-Russian separatists and Ukrainian forces.

The UN estimates an average of 13 people, including soldiers, rebels and civilians, are killed daily.

Cardiology nurse Viktoria says the situation is dire.
