Catalan President Mas calls for early elections

Catalonia's President Artur Mas is requesting early, traditional elections for independence in the Catalan region. He said the November 9 non-binding consultation held in Catalonia, with a record turnout that voted 80% in favor of cession from Spain, clearly demonstrated the disposition of the Catalan people. Mas called upon Spain to stop stalling and create the legal framework necessary for binding elections on a sovereign Catalan state to take place. teleSUR
