"Yes we can!" is back -- immigration activists hit White House

Immigration activists gather outside the White House to thank President Barack Obama for taking action on immigration reform.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR GUSTAVO TORRES OF CASA DE MARYLAND SAYING:

"Today is a victory for many families who until now have been living in fear for being separated!"

It was a mixed group with immigrants from throughout the world.

Feelings were also mixed

This woman was on day 19 of a hunger strike when Obama made his announcement.

(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) IMMIGRATION ACTIVIST LENKA MENDOZA SAYING:

"I benefit, but we were hoping it would be more generous, more just. But we're also optimistic that it's the first step to immigration reform."

Some showed up to voice their discontent
