Bradley Cooper, with his toned body and charming smile, has been a heartthrob for quite some time now. In Cooper’s latest flick ‘American Sniper’, he’s incredibly muscular and noticeably larger than in his previous films.

Bradley Cooper has played a wide variety of roles in his acting career.

For his latest flick ‘American Sniper’, he worked really hard physically in order to portray a NAVY seal.

The actor reportedly had to put on about 40 pounds. According to writer-producer Jason Hall, Cooper followed a very strick diet and exercise regimen for his portrayal of Chris Kyle, a real-life Navy SEAL.

He said Cooper was eating every 55 minutes and taking in about 8 thousand calories per day.

Hall told PEOPLE Magazine “Bradley used his own trainer, who was busting on him. I think he was working out four hours a day for several months.. He was just very systematic about it and took his trainer with him wherever he went.”

Hall also added that Cooper was determined to get in top shape on his own without using steroids or hormones.

‘American Sniper’ is scheduled to hit theaters on December 25th.
