Sometimes even seemingly simple tasks can be quite dangerous. A man in Florida was fatally electrocuted while installing a dish washer and a ring he was wearing may have played a role in the shock.

The incident happened on Thursday at the home of 33-year-old Jason Ferguson’s in-laws.

Reportedly Ferguson was kneeling in a pool of water prior to being electrocuted.

He had asked his brother to turn the power back on and then heard a strange noise coming out of the dishwasher. Ferguson reached around the appliance and touched a bare copper wire with the hand that wore the wedding ring.

The family had been preparing to eat dinner that evening when they saw Ferguson was hunched over in front of the dishwasher.

The relatives noticed he was turning red and unresponsive. They quickly started CPR to revive him.

Ferguson was later transported to the hospital where he passed away.
