Political truce holds in Zambia after unrest

A political truce in Zambia appears to be holding after the ruling party's secretary-general was reinstated.

Protests were followed by violence on Monday when Guy Scott, Zambia's interim president, sacked Edgar Lungu in a decision that was seen by many as politically motivated.

According to the polls, Lungu is a front-runner in the race for presidency scheduled for January, following the death of Micheal Sata, the late Zambian president.
