Making of Last of the Summer Wine 2004 - "Has Anyone Seen a Peruvian Wart?"

So here it is. Sorry to say that this is the final video on location during the filming of the show. However, there will still be a couple more videos to come.

This is all the footage from the last VHS. I'm afraid it's all little bits and pieces this time as there was not much to play with.

I'd like to explain why we did not return to the filming locations and why there is no more footage.

While we were filming these scenes, the Director, Alan Bell, made it very difficult for us as he was constantly wanting to check the footage that we had shot.
In another incident, we were told we couldn't stop on a public footpath to video them filming.
This was the first time in all our visits on set that we were not made very welcome.
It became increasingly difficult to video anything let alone get close enough to do so.

When we returned from our holiday, we wrote a letter explaining to Alan how disappointed we were at how we were treated. Alan replied and said how sorry he was that we felt that way and explained that there were "problems with law and etiquette" when we visited the locations. He also explained that there were new health and safety regulations that made him personally responsible for the well being of the cast and crew and was "not willing to extend that perilous responsibility to any member of the public who are allowed to be amidst all the potentially dangerous paraphernalia of filming".

We have thoroughly enjoyed our visits to all the locations during the filming of this great show and also meeting the cast and crew that made this the show that it is today.

Our special thanks go out to Alan Bell for allowing us to watch on so many occasions and also for giving us the chance to be a part of the show too.
Also, thanks go to Clive Eardley (President of the Summer Wine Appreciation Society) for all his help and hospitality over the years.
