A Wilmington, Delaware man named Richard Todd and his children are searching for their feline named Boo.

This isn’t just a typical housecat though. Boo is a 35-pound African Savannah that is valued at approximately 20 thousand dollars.

Savannahs, which bear a resemblance to leopards, were first bred in 1986 by crossing a domestic feline with a wild Serval cat from Africa.

In the case of Boo, he went missing nearly two weeks ago after chasing a rabbit.

Todd has searched using his vehicle, on foot and even hung a chicken on a string. He remarked “Originally I was just putting chicken down, but the foxes kept taking it. So I started hanging it up. I put some hooks, hanging it up with bells on them and the chicken hanging.”

He has set up trail cameras but thus far no images have been captured of the cat and Boo has yet to sample the chicken bait. Because of the unique appearance, some local residents think the feline is a cougar.

However Todd and his kids were quick to point out that Boo is just a sweet cat; a feline they desperately want back home.

Fliers have been set up in the neighborhood and a number of sightings have come in giving the family hope.
