Volcano lava flow threatens Hawaii village
- 10 years ago
Volcanic lava creeps closer to a village in Hawaii's Big Island.
Authorities said over the weekend they're preparing to evacuate about 4,000 people living in the area, as it could reach homes in a few days.
The lava's moving at a rate of nearly 10 kilometres per hour.
It was first spotted coming out of the volcano's vent in late June and has made its way through miles of thick forest.
