Funeral for Kurd fighters killed in Kobani

Turkish Kurds mourn those who have lost their lives fighting against Islamic State militants in Kobani.

The mostly Kurdish border town in Syria has struggled for weeks against the insurgents.

(SOUNDBITE) (Turkish) KURDISH MOURNER, MEHMET KIRGIZ, SAYING:

"We have three martyrs today, one of them was a woman. It is said that there are other funerals to be brought here. This is almost a genocide."

Apart from airstrikes by the U.S.-led coalition, they've been on their own.

Turkey has so far refused to help on the ground in Syria.

But they've said they'll help Kurdish fighters from Iraq to enter Kobani.
