Flooding and mudslides left over 300 people stranded in the Yanatile district of Peru on Monday.

Torrential rains provoked mudslides that were carried along the Sirpiyoc river, destroying bridges and severely damaging at least five homes.

Residents sought shelter in a municipal building and local authorities reported that at least 300 people, including high school children, were unable to return to their homes due to the flooding and mudslides.
