The launch of second-gen Mahindra Scorpio marked an all new era for the SUV lovers. Infinite changes, majorly the new platform used for first time, replied new Scorpio to portray its caliphate over the rest. Here, in the comparison we dragged Tata Aria, Safari Storme and its in-house rival XUV 500 for a head-to-head clash. Engine
The heart of all vehicles here are of a 2.2-liter diesel unit. It’s only the XUV that is coupled to a 6-speed, while the rest are mated to a 5-speed manual. Out of all, Scorpio rolls out “least” number of horses, specifically 120bhp; whereas Tata Aria benchmarks the rivalry with 148bhp. Safari Storme and XUV 500 are on a tie at 138bhp.
Dimension
Dimensionally, the Scorpio is shortest than the opponents. On wheelbase, it fares better than Storme, but Aria managed to win over.
Even in the width and length Tata’s crossover bags the pole position!
But in height, Mahindra has claimed no else can stand taller than its new brigadier SUV.
Overview
On the numerical note, Aria has benchmarked the footprint and horsepower both. Safari Storme and XUV remained impressive choices throughout. In fact, Scorpio has proven its worth over number of years inclusive of various off-road events and rallies.
Hence, this is only an on-paper comparison which is subjected not to be the same in real-world driving conditions.
