Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said that Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has no proofs of rigging. “Had he had any proofs, he would be ready to face judicial commission”, said Pervaiz Rashid. He said that after promoting the politics of lies, protesters are now threatening the country of civil war.
Holding a press conference today (Tuesday) in Islamabad, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) senator said that no independent organization or media source confirms Imran Khan’s rigging allegations. He said that Imran Khan is just trying to malign the elections because if he had any proofs he would have submitted them before courts.
Pervaiz Rashid said that Imran Khan makes accusation without any proofs openly before cameras and then forgets his own allegations. However, he said, government has tolerated his baseless accusations.
“Imran Khan has promised that he would name Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MNA Tahira Asif’s murderers on Saturday but it’s been two Saturdays now and he hasn’t fulfilled his promise”, said PML-N senator. He said that Imran Khan told a lie that 17 dead bodies were brought to PIMS Hospital. “Imran Khan should name those 17 people before cameras tonight”, Rashid said.
PML-N leader said that Imran Khan has alleged former Chief of Army Staff General Ashaq Pervez Kiyani, former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and former judge of Supreme Court Justice Khalilur Rehman Ramday. He said that Imran Khan has also accused journalists of being sold out. “Imran Khan should prove his allegations against journalists or should take them back immediately”, stressed the federal minister.
Information Minister said that he will defend the journalists being Minister for Information and Broadcasting. “Wehad abolished secret fund immediately after coming into power”, he said. “PML-N ended the culture of awarding plots”, he added.
“Imran Khan had alleged that ballot papers were published from Urdu Bazar. Now the owner of the printing press has gone to courts against him and Imran should face the courts”, said Pervaiz Rashid. “Why does Imran Khan not respond to Javed Hashmi’s allegations? Why does he not issue a show cause notice to his party’s president”, asked Pervaiz Rashid.
