Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s leader Mr. Altaf Hussain has withdrawn his decision of renunciation of leadership because of the tearful pleas and insistence of his workers. Before his withdrawal Mr. Hussain had renounced leadership of MQM due to non-organizational behavior and negligence of Rabita Committee members and office bearers.
Workers gathered in large numbers at the Nine Zero when they heard the news. These workers started chanting slogans in favour of Mr. Hussain insisted that Mr Hussain should reverse his decision to retire from the party leadership[. On this occasion people witnessed highly emotional and tearful scenes. Most of the workers expressed their selfless devotions in emotive way.
Reversing his decision on the renunciation of MQM leadership Mr. Hussain said to his workers while addressing them from London through phone that he would give the present Rabita Committee last chance. He added that senior workers from 1978 would have to come forward.
“Every sector will have to give names of three candidates for Rabita Committee. These people should be educated, capable and honest and should not be involved in anti-social activities. They will be interviewed and made members of Rabita Committee. When we have clean, hard-working and honest members that we would send negligent Rabita Committee members in their areas, “ Mr. Hussain said.
Mr. Hussain said that now it was the responsibility of movement’s senior and sincere workers to assure me that the new members would be selected for the Rabita Committee on merit. He added that they could not give me peace then should not hurt me either.
He said he took back the decision of renunciation from the leadership for the last time on your pleas and insistence. When the workers heard this they chanted slogans.
