Royal hoax inquest into death of nurse Jacintha Saldanha due to begin

An inquest into the death of a nurse who answered a prank phone call by two Australian radio DJs about the health of the Duchess of Cambridge is due to be held on Thursday, more than a year and a half after she died.
Jacintha Saldanha was working at a London hospital where Kate Middleton was being treated for morning sickness during her first pregnancy. She transferred a call from the two presenters pretending to be the Queen and Prince Philip to the nurse treating Kate, who gave out personal details about her health.
Three days later the mother of two killed herself, blaming the DJs in a suicide note.
Australia presenters Mel Greig and Michael Christian will not be present at the inquest but their radio station 2Day FM has submitted evidence.
The inquest will hear from the matron who put Saldanha on duty on the morning of the hoax call, and the nurse who gave out the private details about the Duchess’ health.
The inquest comes in the same week that it was revealed the Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant with her second child.
