BANKSY IMAGES DOCTORED BY SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE SUPPORTERS
Campaigning is in full swing in Scotland ahead of the September 18th independence referendum and some supporters of the yes vote have come up with a novel way of winning over voters. They have taken to social networks posting doctored images of pieces by British street artist Banksy, promoting Scotland`s withdrawal from the United Kingdom. They have used image editing software for these reworked works that have caused something of a stir online. 
Supporters of Scottish independence have hailed the initiative, saying it is an interesting and fun way to convey the message. Some web users think the pictures are actually originals and have praised Banksy for his stance, although the graffiti artist has not shared nay opinion on the debate raging in Scotland right now.
And while the campaign is proving hugely popular online, it’s not the first time Yes campaigners have used art for communication purposes. A collective of Scottish independence groups launched a poster competition back in April, open to all. Scores of artists submitted entries, coming up with all manner of imaginative creations, all aimed at prompting voters to say “yes” to Scotland`s separation from the United Kingdom… as we can see here.
