Mystery over three nuns killed in Burundi

Police in Burundi have detained two suspects as they investigate the murder of three elderly nuns, two in their dormitory beds, in a convent in Bujumbura. The Catholic church has issued a statement regretting the nuns’ deaths in what appeared to be “an armed robbery by a mentally unbalanced person”. In 2011 a similar attack left a Croatian nun and Italian aid worker dead.
