Terming Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Pakistan’s Hosni Mobarak, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan said that PTI’s first and foremost condition for negotiation is Prime Minister’s resignation, Dunya News reported.
PTI chief presented a number of demands saying his committee is ready to negotiate on the following conditions.
1 – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif must resign
2 – Immediate electoral reforms
3 – Reelection must take place after reforms
4 –Neutral caretaker government, not the one that inflicts ‘35 punctures’
5 – Resignation of all the election commissioners that managed the previous election.
6 – Accountability of those who ‘colluded’ with Prime Minister for election rigging, must be imprisoned and tried under Article 6.
“Our committee is ready to negotiate, but I repeat, there’s no need to talk until Nawaz Sharif resigns because Nawaz Sharif ‘colluded’ with Election Commission for rigging. If Nawaz Sharif doesn’t resign, how will independent accountability take place?” Khan said.
According to Dunya News sources, a negotiation committee comprising Javed Hashmi, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Jahangir Tareen and Arif Alvi was formed. Qureshi is reportedly leading this committee.
Earlier, Imran ‎Khan while taking to Dunya news said that ‘we cannot think of alternate ways except ‎for PM Nawaz Sharif’s resignation’, adding that he will not be able to give any ‎deadline but will soon join the negotiation table.‎
He further said that he is a political leader and he would tell his party workers ‎about how a negotiation is reached, which applies equally to both parties.‎
‎“Right now we are not going to give any deadline to the public but the time has ‎come to join the negotiation table”, Khan said.
Earlier, while talking to media Khan said that he had full faith in the judiciary ‎of Pakistan, adding that only negotiation could determine who will be appointed ‎as the leader of the caretaker ‎government setup.
‎“After PM Nawaz’s resignation the table of negotiations can be set on the ‎guarantee of the Supreme Court”, said Imran Khan.‎
He further said that there is solid evidence against Nawaz Sharif allegedly proving him ‎responsible of ‘massive rigging’ in the 2013 general elections. Hundreds of ‎thousands of fake ballot papers were distributed to people. Those who carried ‎rigging in the 2013 general elections should be penalized according to article 6 of ‎the constitution, he demanded.
