According to the sources Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has decided not to join the civil disobedience movement proposed by Imran Khan.
JI is of the view that the call for civil disobedience has been made by a single political party and is not a decision of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government therefore they shall not support its coalition party in any such decision at all.
Earlier, the announcement of civil disobedience movement by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has been challenged in Lahore High Court.
The petition has been filed by a local lawyer Muhammad Kashif.
In his petition, he stated that the call of civil disobedience movement by Imran Khan was an unconstitutional step, adding that the announcement would result into more violence that will push the country to the brink of a civil war.
The petition requested the court to take action against this step of Imran Khan
Earlier, Imran Khan called on thousands of anti-government protesters to stop paying taxes and practice civil disobedience until Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif steps down, rising fears of instability in the nuclear-armed U.S. ally.
