German aid for Iraq as Foreign Minister arrives in Baghdad

An official works to secure boxes of medicine, food and blankets, as an aircraft makes its way to northern Iraq.
It's Germany's first relief flight to arrive in the war-torn country, providing aid for displaced Iraqis fleeing Islamic State's brutality in the north.
This as German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrives in Baghdad... preparing to hold talks with the Iraqi Kurdish President on possible military assistance to deal with Islamist militants.
(SOUNDBITE) (German) GERMAN FOREIGN MINISTER FRANK-WALTER STEINMEIER, SAYING:
"The daily pictures we see every day from Iraq of murdered, slaughtered people horrifies Germany and the entire world."
Spending time at an aid distribution center in Arbil, he voiced support for displaced Yazidis.
Steinmeier said there was a "glimmer of light" with the new Iraqi government, led by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.
High hopes remain that Abadi stops the sectarian bloodshed, fueled by Islamic Stat
