Entertainment Critics Review

Akshay Kumar’s much awaited film; Entertainment has finally made it to the screens on the 8th of August, 2014. Co-starring Tamannah Bhatia along with comedians like Johnny Lever and Krushna Abhishek, while the film was already in news owing to the dog playing its pivotal lead, here are some of the leading critic reviews, on whether you should watch or not watch this Sajid-Farhad’s Entertainment!

Bollywood Hungama says, Ratings: 3.5/5

Really, if you need to de-stress yourself, ENTERTAINMENT -- with all its bizarre, outrageous and wacky jokes and superb one-liners -- serves the purpose. However, you cannot disregard the loose ends. The gags and funny episodes, all of a sudden, take a back seat towards the second hour and though Sajid-Farhad, do make an attempt to pack hilarious occurrences, you aren't amused really. On the whole, ENTERTAINMENT is a joy ride that lives up to its title. Go, laugh out loud and get entertained!

DNA says, Ratings: 3/5

The film lacks a proper script and like most other madcap comic capers, the film uses less heart and no brains at all. Other than few emotional scenes between Junior and Akshay, which might bring back memories of your own pet, there’s nothing too praiseworthy about the plot. ‘Yeh film sirf teen chizon pe chalegi: Entertainment, Entertainment aur Entertainment’. There are some people who are not ‘God-gifted’ but ‘Dog-gifted’. This film is definitely for such people! If you are a dog lover, you must watch it for our little star, Junior. Else, you can just let it pass.

Moviezadda says, Ratings: 1/5

Well the movie starts with good dum along with some fun, but as it progresses, the dum and fun seems to slide downwards and ends up on a disappointing note. The kids might love the dog track, but rest others will have a hard time digesting the insanity happening in the film. At the time of promo launch, animal rights activist Maneka Gandhi, supported this film, saying that no animals were harmed in this film. Well, after watching this movie would love to ask her, 'What about the human rights?', as 'Entertainment' movie harms them mercilessly with the level of idiocy attached to it in the name of entertainment!

Mid Day says, Ratings: 3.5/5

‘Entertainment' pleasantly surprises with its delightful absurdity and sure gets you roaring with laughter at several points. Making people laugh is a serious business and the debut director duo (and writers) Sajid-Farhad do a more than decent job of it. This film is child friendly. After a spate of films that thought funny is talking about someone’s bow bow-el movements, Entertainment comes as a refreshing change. The dialogues, especially the ones given to Krushna Abhishek are super hilarious and must admit, mighty clever!

India Today says, Ratings: 1/5

The humor in this film touches a new low. Dialogues like 'Jaisi Karni Waisi Mamta Kulkarni' and DNA has a whole new meaning, here it means 'Daddy's najayaz aulad'. There are many gems like these in this two-hour-twenty-minute film. Some jokes are too juvenile, some are not in good taste and very few are actually funny. The plot of the film is senseless and full of loopholes. So please, don't go by the title, it's sure called Entertainment but only if that was enough!
