Mideast ceasefire ends but talks continue over extension

The truce between Israel and Hamas has ended but talks are continuing in Egypt over a fresh deal to bring peace to Gaza.

Hamas has rejected extending the three-day truce as it says Israel has failed to meet its demands, most notably the reopening of the port at Gaza to shipping.

Hamas has also denied Israeli allegations that it fired two rockets into southern Israel hours before the ceasefire ended this morning. There has been no word, however, from other Palestinian dissident groups.
