Former Costa Concordia captain Francesco Schettino gives a seminar in "managing panic" at a Rome university, sparking uproar. The Independent reports he compared the cruise liner sinking to events on 9/11. In India, uproar, too, over a fashion shoot based on the Delhi gang rape of December 2012. The photographer has withdrawn the images. Defending his work, he said it was meant to highlight safety issues and "throw light on Indian patriarchy and a male-dominated society".
