A man on board a plane escorted into Manchester Airport by a fighter jet has been arrested on suspicion of making a hoax bomb threat.

The crew of the Qatar Airlines Doha to Manchester flight received a threat of a possible device on board.

Greater Manchester Police treated the incident as a full emergency and flights into and out of the airport were suspended for a short time.

All passengers and crew who were on board the flight are safe and service at Manchester Airport is back to normal.
