Robert Hamme of Elizabethtown, Kentucky is facing charges of animal cruelty after admitting he threw Canadian bacon laced with razor blades into his neighbors’ yard.

The meat was discovered on the same day the neighbors had to put one of their dogs to sleep.

James Stotts said he saw his surviving dog nibbling on something and grabbed and inspected it.

It was a blade wrapped in a piece of meat he determined to be Canadian bacon that had been cut into 4 parts.

A search of his lawn turned up two more pieces. He believes that the 4th was eaten by his now-deceased pet and led to the animal’s severe intestinal blockage.

Stotts contacted the police, reported what he’d found, and mentioned the recent passing of his 14-year companion.

It remains to be determined if the blade-laden meat is what caused the dog to fall ill.

What authorities do believe is that Hamme acted intending to cause harm.

When he confessed to what he’d done he said that he was sick of listening to the dogs bark.

He has been charged with two counts of torture of a dog, one of which is a felony.
