Elon Musk, CEO and founder of electric car company Tesla Motors, and space technology company SpaceX has shared his thoughts on artificial intelligence, or AI.

On the social networking site Twitter, Musk posted several tweets addressing his feelings about AI being potentially dangerous for the human race.

The first post mentions the book ‘Superintelligence’ by the Swedish author, philosopher, and Oxford professor Nick Bostrom, which will be released in the United States in September.

Musk is quoted in part of the tweet saying: “We need to be super careful with AI. Potentially more dangerous than nukes.”

And another tweet the next day says: “Hope we're not just the biological boot loader for digital superintelligence. Unfortunately, that is increasingly probable.”

Tesla Motors plans to manufacture largely self driving cars, and Musk is a major investor in an AI company called Vicarious.

So he isn’t criticizing the technology completely, he just thinks we should tread carefully with intelligent machines.
