Israel, Hamas agree to 12-hour humanitarian truce

On the streets of Gaza City, evidence of conflict is glowing in the dark.

An Israeli air strike hit this car, killing at least one Palestinian man, a local medic said.

It's just the latest death hours before a 12-hour humanitarian truce takes effect.

Israel and Hamas agreed to the truce, which Hamas said was brokered by the United Nations.

It's unclear what effect it will have.

Israeli officials said troops would keep searching for tunnels used by militants and would respond if fired upon.

The 18 days of fighting have killed at least 863 Palestinians and 35 Israeli troops, according to officials on each side.
