Former University Professor Arrested For Allegedly Filming Students In Bathroom

A former San Francisco State University professor has been accused of recording students who used the bathroom inside his home. 38-year old Mark Landis previously worked as an accounting professor at the college.
A former San Francisco State University professor has been accused of recording students and friends who used the bathroom inside his home. 38-year old Mark Landis previously worked as an accounting professor at the college, and also taught at the University of San Francisco.
Now, he’s been arrested and charged with 15-counts of misdemeanor invasion of privacy. According to San Francisco police, Landis allegedly secretly recorded his former students inside his residence during parties.
An alert male student noticed a flashing light inside a tissue box in the lavatory during a get together last November.
Once the memory card was removed, the student discovered footage of himself and other party attendees who were filmed in the bathroom. The evidence was handed over to authorities.
Landis was taken into custody this past Wednesday. District Attorney George Gascon remarked “It’s pretty egregious conduct. The camera was pointing basically toward the toilet so he could film their genitalia as they were using the restroom.”
Gascon hopes word of the case will spread to community members so other possible victims will come forward. Landis resigned from the university on July 17th. He is now free on $100,000 bail.
