It took less than a day for police and FBI agents to locate a bank robbery suspect. The reason why the case was so easy is because 68-year-old John David Martinez wore a shirt with his first name on it and drove a vehicle registered in his name to the bank.

Shortly after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Martinez allegedly walked into a Wells Fargo location in Denver. He approached the teller and informed her it was a robbery.

The suspect handed the bank staffer a bag and told her to place all the money inside it. He then passed the bag to a second and third teller.

Martinez left the business and got into his Honda sedan. He was able to drive off before police got there, but surveillance footage made it very easy for cops to track him down through DMV records.

Martinez was located about a mile away from the bank. He was arrested and is being held on ‘ suspicion of robbery and theft of more than $20,000’.

Although the accused has been arrested in the past for a number of different crimes, desperation seems to be the motive for the bank robbery.

Martinez told police he and his wife had just been evicted from their home.
