Dunya News - Zarb-e-Azb: TTP commander among 6 killed in Mirali ground offensive

Pakistan Army instigated ground operation in Mirali today (Tuesday). Six militants including the commander of the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban (TTP) got killed in the initial action.

During a media briefing in Lahore today, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa said that they would leave no stone unturned to wipe out any extremist elements.

Armed forces have been successfully combating these militant entities in North Waziristan and moving forward. According to DG ISPR, ground operation has been initiated in Mirali killing six militants including the commander, Matiullah, of Tehreek-e-Taliban.

Major General Asim Bajwa stated “North Waziristan has become the hub of terrorists.” He further added that the army has cleared 80% of Miranshah area. Giving the statistics he stated 26 soldiers have been martyred as a result of the operation Zarb-e-Azb whereas the number of migrants has mounted to 9 Lac. DG ISPR expressed sheer determination to solve whatsoever issues being faced by IDPs.
