The Atelier Versace Fall Winter 2014 haute couture show opened the couture season on Sunday night, gathering top stars of the fashion world in the capital of elegance, Paris.
Atelier Versace was relaunched in 2012 after eight years of absence from the haute couture calendar and the fashion show of this season, at which also Jennifer Lopez attended, presented thirty one attires. For such collection, Donatella Versace took inspiration from the 40s/50s tailleur, to which the designer added asymmetric lines and cut-outs, giving a more masculin touch. As a matter of fact, as Donatella stated during the fashion show: "Nothing is what it seems. A dress ends up being a trouser, while on the other side a skirt leaves the whole leg uncovered. It gives a female/male effect that I find stunning." The editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia, Franca Sozzani, assessed that the collection resembles the character of Donatella Versace: "A very strong and avanguard woman", indeed, who is finely dressed and fulfilled in her life. What furthermore undoubtly gave an even greater glamorous touch was the astonishing work of Pat McGrath, who opted fot a teal blue make up for every model.
