Swiss helicopter firm implicated in Schumacher probe

A Swiss helicopter firm is being investigated for allegedly trying to sell the medical files of Michael Schumacher.

The ex-Formula One world champion’s records were taken last month when he was transferred from a hospital in France to a clinic in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Schumacher’s manager Sabine Kehm claimed at the time that the medical notes, which were being offered for sale on the internet for 50,000 euros, were ‘‘clearly stolen’‘.

While the ex-racing driver was eventually transported by road, the Swiss helicopter firm that was initially contacted about the transfer, is still thought to have received the files.

French authorities are said to have traced an IP address used by the alleged thief to the Swiss company.

Schumacher recently emerged from a medically induced coma after suffering a severe head injury during a skiing accident last December. Little is known about his current medical condition.
