Dark, satanic horror movie 'Deliver Us From Evil' pairs a cop and a priest
- 10 years ago
‘Deliver Us From Evil’ is a supernatural chiller based on a New York cop who teams up with a Jesuit priest schooled in the arts of exorcism.
Actor Eric Bana, who plays the police officer, says it was a first for him: “I’ve never done a horror film before so I was fascinated by that. I’m just a really big fan of Scott Derrickson our director, I loved his previous films, ‘The Exorcism of Emily Rose,’ and ‘Sinister’. I thought that was scary as hell.”
Venezuelan actor Edgar Ramirez plays the role of Father Mendoza, an unconventional Jesuit priest with a connection to the other side.
Ramirez is pretty open when it comes to the supernatural: “I’ve always maintained an open mind in regards to these phenomenon. I think it would be a very dangerous arrogance to deny that these phenomenon exist simply because you don’t understand them.”
‘Deliver Us From Evil’ goes global this summer.
