Dunya News - Sindh Assembly session to be held in new building today

The Sindh Assembly session will be held in the newly-constructed building today (Tuesday), Dunya news reported.
With an estimated cost of Rs 4.65 billion, the new building is a state-of-the-art and hi-tech project.
Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani and Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon visited the building on completion of the main hall and reviewed all arrangements.
Special arrangements have been made for Governor of Sindh, diplomats and other guests.
It is a four-storey building with basement and ground floor. The seating capacity of the House is 300 which would be later enhanced to 500 seats. There are large galleries for visitors and media.
It has chambers of the Speaker, Leader of the House and the Opposition Leader besides offices for twenty ministers as well as spacious and beautiful auditorium and cafeteria, and various other standard facilities for the parliamentarians and the visitors.
For its decoration, carpets and other goods have been imported from Turkey and other countries.
The construction of new Sindh Assembly building had started in 2010 and the project is expected to be completed by end of this year.
