Iraq: female fighters ready to combat ISIL threat

Female fighters in Iraq’s northern Kurdish region have said they are “ready to fight” in response to the growing control of Sunni militants in large areas of the region. The 600 recruits of the female division of the Kurdish militia took control of the city of Kirkuk after Iraqi troops left the area.
