Royal honour for late teenage cancer fundraiser Stephen Sutton

His courage inspired Britain and now late teenage cancer sufferer and fundraiser Stephen Sutton has been publicly recognised by
Queen Elizabeth with an MBE in this year’s Birthday Honours List.

Sharing his story on social media, Stephen has raised over 5 million euros.

First diagnosed with bowel cancer four years ago, he raised the money for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity and won the support of numerous celebrities and politicians, including Prime Minister David Cameron.

Stephen accepted the MBE award before his death in May at the age of 19.
